Tunnels

Round 20: Autumn 2011

Brandon Kirby is 76, Leontine is 69, Trent is 41, Megan is 39, Claudia and Victoria are both 10 and Rebecca is 2.
(Tate is 41, Zelda is 36 and Josie is 9)

Narrated by Megan Kirby

Rebecca is 2 now and she's been walking for a while now so we're working on talking. I'm proud to say that her first word was "Mama" and she followed it with many more!

Crush

Round 19: Summer 2009

Brandon Kirby is 74, Leontine is 67, Trent is 39, Megan is 37 and Claudia and Victoria are 8.

Narrated by Megan Kirby

Brandon and I are still working hard for the market, looking up new recipes for the bakery section. Brandon would like to retire and he's very keen to get everything perfect before Trent takes over.

Twin falls

Round 18: Days 86-90

Narrated by Megan Kirby

Due to a malfunctioning sprinkler, the entire season's crop was destroyed. Brandon took it all in his stride though and simply pulled all the plants out and used them for compost instead.

Lurgee

Round 17: Days 81-85

Narrated by Megan Kirby

Our honeymoon had been planned for ages and I was initially really excited about it. Trent's mum and dad own a cabin in Three Lakes, so accommodation was taken care of. Right before we left though, I found out the reason I had been so nauseous lately was because I was pregnant. Being out in the wilderness with morning sickness was the last thing I wanted to do.

Here

Round 16: Days 76-80
Narrated by Collette Sitko

Owen begged me and Julian to let him take over his grandparents' old room. He had it repainted and redecorated in no time. Kirstin is growing up fast and no teenage girl should have to share a bedroom with her brother!

Gunslingers

Round 16: Days 76-80

Narrated by Trent Kirby (this is a longer one that usual)

So I guess what most people do once they've graduated college is look for a job. I did that (I'm on the local soccer team) but what I was really looking forward to was hitting the bars. I brought Emil and my cousin Samson along for the ride.

Ain't gone and open

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Brandon Kirby

Not much to speak of here on the farm. Tate and Trent are off at college, so I'm usually packing crates for the market by myself.

Seven nation army

Round 14: Days 66-70
Narrated by Leontine Kirby

We started off with a bit of luck when Tate found an old genie lamp that someone had just left on our lawn. He wished for peace of mind but I couldn't resist being a bit vain and wishing for beauty. I've been feeling old since I turned 40 but to my disappointment, the genie didn't get rid of my wrinkles or anything. All that happened was a constant stream of visitors to the house, at all hours of the night, wanting to talk to me! I hope it wears off soon because I can't take it for much longer!

Sister saviour

Round 13: Days 61-65

By the age of 8, Trent Kirby had insisted on taking over full responsibility of the Kirby farm's crops, which were previously the domain of his dad, Brandon.

Heavy heart

Round 12: Days 56-60
Now that Betsy was a little older, she was able to appreciate Joseph's guitar skills almost as much as Vivienne. Sunday mornings in the Carmody house were often spent holding impromptu concerts in the living room.

Joseph had been a little concerned about approaching middle age recently and Vivienne had suggested a new hairstyle for him. His old style might have been okay when he was 18 but he was approaching 40 now. Joseph was rather horrified by his new cut - it looked like it would take some getting used to.

Nothing special

Round 12: Days 56-60
Brandon started this round with a bit of bad luck. He was late one too many times and was fired from his job in Counter Intelligence. His workplace was pretty far from the farm but the higher-ups did not accept that as an excuse. At least the farm was still profitable and Leontine was still employed.

Hammering the cramps

Round 11: Days 51-55
Vivienne and Joseph were living in a one bedroom townhouse when they learned they were expecting a child. They obviously had to move, so they bought a little house on Queen's Bay Road, right next door to Lukas and Raffaella Novak.

It was perfect for them and there was even space in the backyard for Joseph to start growing some tomatoes.

Once in a lifetime

Round 11: Days 51-55
The round didn't start out well for Brandon and Leontine. Mold had been discovered in the walls and had destroyed much of their furniture. They had to move out temporarily and rebuy most of their furniture.

Pounding

Round 10: Days 46-50

Leontine has graduated college and moved into boyfriend Brandon's family farm.

While Leontine is tending the apple trees one afternoon, Brandon surprises her with a proposal.

Twinstar

Round 9: College
(Georgette, Vivienne and Leontine)
Next updates: Leontine/Georgette/Vivienne

Vivienne was really eager to graduate in her Junior and Senior years of university. Even her socialising was done with her grades in mind.

Much of Leontine's social life was still being spent fielding phone calls (several times daily) from ex-boyfriend Charlton. Leontine is beginning to worry this would never end. Charlton knows about Brandon, Leontine knows about Aphrodite. There's no reason for them to have to speak as often as this.

Crackle and drag

Round 9: Days 41-45
This rotation started on a sad note for the Kirbys. Joanne passed away in platinum, aged 77.

Post-Paint Boy

Round 9: Days 41-45

Yes, we're back to Galen again. I always move any new graduates in at the beginning of the new rotation (this is the beginning of Rotation 9), so they're all set up with non-hideous clothes (like say, NOT jodphurs, in Galen's case) and phones in case they get involved in someone else's life. Hence, more Galen.

Galen has moved into an apartment in Exeter. It's pretty spacious and there's a very cool loft area upstairs, which is where he sets up his computer. The first thing he does is look for a job. There's none available in Music, so he settles for Entertainment and has a stand-up comedy gig tonight.

Generals and majors

Round 8: College
(Georgette, Vivienne and Leontine)

Gah, this was such a jam-packed play session! I ended up taking 153 pics and had to weed down from there! So this one is long and it has some slight nudity. Nothing pornographic but it does contain Georgette's bum and possibly a bit of Leontine's nipple. So consider yourself warned!

Georgette, Vivienne and Leontine have headed off to Suffolk University without brother Pascal. Even without his help though, they are able to afford a fully furnished house on campus. It's not decorated quite in the style they want but they can fix that up over the next few years.

Nathaniel Kirby passes on his legacy

Round 8: Days 36-40

Nathaniel has now officially transferred ownership of Kirby Market to his son, Brandon. He did it before he died, rather than leaving the lot to Brandon in his will, so he could enjoy his last few years and so he could spend some time passing on the benefits he's earned to Brandon.

In the city

Round 7: Days 31-35
Nathaniel and Joanne are both elders now, so Brandon will soon be the primary caretaker of the farm. For now though, he is focusing on his relationship with Vivienne.
