An update is coming! I have the pictures, they're all uploaded, it's written - I just need to dump it all into Blogger and format it properly. That will happen sometime this week.
In the meantime, I bring you my Day 2 gift from N99's August Goodies. I love decorating my younger sims' rooms with posters but I was in dire need of some girlier ones. So I made some and decided to share.
They're all on Grilled Cheese, so as long as you have Nightlife, you should be good to go!
Download them here! Everything is clearly labelled, so you can delete any you don't want.
First off, I want to apologise for my extended absence from the blog! I was hoping to get back into it regularly after Dad got out of hospital but it hasn't happened that way. It's just been one thing after another, unfortunately. This has been a really crappy year for me and my sims are suffering for it too. :( Poor Chris and Anthony are still waiting to be played! I'm going to try to at least get a vague outline of the update written today or tomorrow - that always helps me when I have a play session to finish. :)
In place of an actual update, I thought I would offer a little gift. This was my Day 1 contribution to N99's third annual August Goodies Giveaway. I'll post my other goodies over the coming weeks.
I've had this mirror by Nanashi for ages but don't think I've ever used it. By default, it only came in green and I could just never find the right place for it in any of my sims' homes. So I made some recolours of it.
In the zip, you'll find the colours pictured here, plus three bonus colours I made at the last minute. The pink and yellow ones in the pic didn't turn out quite as I wanted them to, so I fired up SimPE again and did a brighter pink, a less greenish-yellow and an orange for good measure. File names are pretty clear, so it should be easy for you to delete any you don't want.
Download them here! Mesh is included, as per Nanashi's very convenient policy.
You should definitely check out Nanashi's original post anyway though. Nanashi did a ton of mirrors for this set and a lot of them have become favourites of mine.
Rebecca is due to hit Week 40 in February but as is often the case with twins, the Collins babies had other ideas. At 37 weeks, Rebecca and her husband Nathan head to the hospital, because those babies are ready!
I really didn't intend to be away for as long as I have been, so I wanted to drop a quick note to explain. I'd planned to start simming again this week and get an update out by this weekend but that's really unlikely.
Very early Sunday morning, my dad was taken to hospital after experiencing shortness of breath. He's been in there ever since, being treated for what was ultimately discovered to be a weak heart muscle. It's irreversible but manageable with medication. He is also going to have to make some serious lifestyle changes when he gets out and he has a history of not following doctors' orders. He has said that he'll do as he's told this time but we're all on tenterhooks while we wait to see if he's had a big enough scare to actually follow through.
It's been a very stressful time for the whole family. You may see me around the community but I haven't been able to actually play. I'm not going to take a stab at when I might be back, because I don't want to pick a date and then not stick to it. It might be soon, it might take a bit longer. I hope you can all be patient with me in the meantime! :)
A little while back, there was a project at N99 where we made and fulfilled requests. At the time, I'd just realised that The Claudette, Adam Gottlieb's restaurant, was from the Exchange and now that it was closed, I had no hope of getting it back for Sullivan 2.0. So I asked if anyone would be willing to build a new version of The Claudette for me, with the same sort of style as the old one. I specified that I'd decorate the interior myself, so I wasn't too fussed about what it looked like inside. The lovely Tanja (blogger for SimsVille and now Linfort) took me up on it and built me a fantastic new restaurant. I excitedly downloaded it and then it sat in my hood for...probably two years?
But I was hit by some inspiration this weekend and finally decided to decorate it.
Tanja did an awesome job recreating the exterior (the original is here) and I changed very little. I just moved the phone outside and changed the wallpaper and some of the tiling. Although, looking at the original wallpaper, I might change it again.
