Uni kids (A), March 2047

March 2047 (Autumn)

Aurora and Bianca Moretti are 21, Gabriel Nott is 20 and Charlotte and Marcus Lane are 18.
(Brendan is 24)

Marcus has just begun his first year at Suffolk. He’d decided to major in Physics a couple of months before arriving on campus, so he was raring to go once he finally got there.

It’s still early in the semester and there’s already so much work but Marcus is finding he is absolutely thriving.

Some people would probably find Marcus’s studies very, very dull but Marcus absolutely loves them.

Part of that is due to his study sessions with Ilona. They were paired up as lab partners and quickly figured out they shared most of the same classes.

Marcus and Ilona have really been hitting it off and spending lots of time together.

It feels like they can talk forever and never run out of anything to say.

Marcus would like to take things further but Ilona is a little more reserved than he is. If she’s interested, she’s not giving him any clear signals at the moment.

Marcus really likes her though and he may just throw caution to the wind and ask her out anyway. The worst she can say is no.

Charlotte wasn’t entirely sure what she’d major in when she started at Suffolk but recently decided to major in Journalism.

Charlotte has found her first weeks at uni a little bit lonely. She’s starting to wonder if maybe she shouldn’t have pushed so hard for a single room.

Apart from her cousin Marcus, the other students are older and have their own things going on. Bianca has been the exception to that and has gone out of her way to befriend Charlotte.

Charlotte had the impression that Bianca was maybe a bit too prissy and judgmental for her but she hasn’t raised an eyebrow at Charlotte’s awful table manners, so maybe she’s not so bad after all.

It’s been nice to get to know at least one new friendly face around the dorms.

Aurora’s boyfriend Brendan’s 24th birthday falls on a Sunday, so Aurora has no classes and is able to come back to Sullivan for the day.

Or more accurately, Brendan is able to drive to campus early in the morning and pick her up, seeing he’s the one with the car!

Brendan doesn’t really mind. If that’s what he has to do for them to spend time together, then he’s happy to do it.

Aurora is in her final year of university now and neither of them can wait until she finally graduates.

She’s talking about housing options for next year and Brendan is hoping she’ll decide to move in with him.

Aurora’s not quite sure she’s ready for that yet, though the romantic side of her thinks she might want to do it anyway.

Fortunately, Brendan isn’t putting any pressure on her either way. Whether they end up living together next year or not, he’s feeling pretty confident about their future.

But next year will also be Aurora’s last chance of living with her twin Bianca, who will be waiting a year for boyfriend Gabriel to graduate.

Aurora thinks she might want to spend that last year with her sister and Bianca is definitely willing. But mostly, Bianca is excited at the prospect of building a home with Gabriel once he’s done with uni.

They’re still young but they’ve been together for so long - their whole lives, it feels like - so it seems like the right move.

They’re not planning on marriage or babies any time soon but getting a house or a flat together is on the agenda.

Until then, they’re both working hard on their studies. Bianca is in the final year of her degree in fashion design and is very dedicated to improving her chosen craft.

Early on, most of her classes were theory-based and any sewing she was doing was just for fun and to keep her skills up. Now, it actually counts for her grades. She’s in the middle of a project right now and has been up all hours of the night finishing it.

Aurora has learnt to sleep right through the whirring of the sewing machine, fortunately for both sisters.

Gabriel sometimes stays up to keep Bianca company. He can’t really help at all. He considers it just good moral support.

Sometimes they’ll just talk (never above a whisper!) while Bianca works but usually Gabriel has his own study to do.

Gabriel’s workload is not quite as much as Bianca’s. He’s a year behind, so he’s not in that final crunch yet.

He’s pretty proud of that 4.0 of his though, so he’s still keen to keep his grades up. On the side, he’s working on a novel.

In truth, he probably spends a bit too much time on the novel sometimes. Those deadlines have snuck up on him in the past and he’s had to cram to finish his actual classwork!

He’s going to have it published - either on his own or with a publishing house - once the novel is done and realistically, he doesn’t think it will be a runaway success.

But at this point, it’s really just something Gabriel wants to get done. Has to get done. If all he ever does is just finish it and get it out there, he’ll be happy.

Notes:
  • Oh, I have been having a TIME getting this update out! I seriously considered giving up on the blog entirely at one point, because I was so stuck. But I powered through and am glad I did! I'm not sure when I'll get to play my other uni kids (I have five more) but it hopefully won't take me as long as it did to get through these ones!
  • Bianca, Gabriel and Marcus are all maintaining 4.0s. Well, Bianca is finished now, so she's got nothing to maintain any more! Aurora and Charlotte both have a 3.6 Charlotte is secondary knowledge but doesn't seem to roll knowledge wants very frequently!
  • Marcus and Ilona kissed without me knowing! I was going to let something develop naturally (if it did) and I wasn't watching them closely enough. So more on that next time we see Marcus, I guess.
  • I'm thinking Aurora and Bianca might move back home for a year and then I'll move them out - Aurora into Brendan's share house with the Nott twins and Bianca in with Gabriel.

  1. As always, it's a pleasure to read your posts, and an inspiration for me to play my own Sims, too. Right now, what with the long beautiful sunny evenings, I like to extend my after-work walks and so my Sims have taken a bit of a back seat.

    1. I am always inspired by reading about other people's sims too! Enjoy those sunny evenings - it's winter here, so it's dark quite early (for us - I know it gets darker earlier in other places).

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

    1. Every time I considered giving it up, there was something that told me not to. So I have no plans to give it up any time soon. :)

I was so so on Marcus and Ilona at first but seeing they've taken things into their own hands now, I'm on board! I love it when sims do that. :)

If you go to the AF everyday tag on my finds blog, you'll find Aurora's outfit there somewhere (pic is a white top and blue skirt but this recolour is included)!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!
