Friends

Round 15: College
(Emil, James, Betsy, Trent and Tate)

Narrated by Betsy Carmody

Emil, James and I are the new freshmen at Suffolk this semester. I'm majoring in Economics, Emil's chosen Art and James has gone the self-flagellation route and picked Mathematics. James and I are both single but Emil is theoretically dating my sister. Not quite sure how exclusive they are.

The fear

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Adam Gottlieb

Athena is about halfway through her pregnancy now and she's lucky she's got a chef for a husband. She's hungry pretty much all day so I'm always serving up extra food for her. I even leave stuff in the fridge for her when I go to work.

Dying

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Georgette Clarke

Galen and I have been doing pretty well lately.

Monday 27 April 2009

Definitive breaks

Round 15: Days 71-75
Narrated by Kit Royce

Leo was wonderful enough to organise our whole wedding on his own. Apart from my dress, of course. That was a surprise. It would be bad luck any other way, and we don't need any more of that!

Sunday 26 April 2009

Don't stop me now

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Mina Lachance

Since Abigail started school, I've had extra time on my hands, which I've been using to check out some other men in town.

Saturday 25 April 2009

Digits

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Caterina Nihill

Ben and I have decided to take a holiday. We never got a honeymoon (we were too broke at the time!) and although we enjoy parenthood, it's wearing us down something fierce lately.

Friday 24 April 2009

Devil in the water

Round 15: Days 71-75

Linnea and I have been slightly at odds lately. We're not fighting or anything but basically, I'm ready for a child and she's not quite there. That's kind of what Icarus here was about. Linnea felt the best way to prepare for parenthood was to test ourselves on a parrot first. I think we should just jump in. I don't think there's anything that can quite prepare you for parenthood. Nothing's really comparable to an actual baby.

Community lot schools - a kind of not really tutorial

I'm still feeling my way around community lot schools but I've had a couple of requests for a post on how I run my schools, so I'll attempt to explain it a bit here.

The most important thing is Inge's school set. I could not run my school without this. It makes everything so much easier. I use the set as is, except I have edited all of the items in Sims 2 Categorizer so that they are available in the community build catalog. The set was designed to run a residential lot school but I haven't run into any problems at all running my schools on community lots, apart from the initial placement issues (now solved with Sims 2 Cat).

Warning: nudity

Narrated by Lake Sims

So, this was a surprise!

Tuesday 21 April 2009

Crash on the barrelhead

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Naomi Novak

My brother James has been studying like mad lately, because he's desperate to get into University. He's such a nerd.

Monday 20 April 2009

Sullivan Primary School

Here is my newly completed primary school, as it appears from the hood screen. I plan to open it at the beginning of Round 16. I hate the roof more than I thought it was possible to hate a roof (it looks way worse from the lot view) but considering how often I'll see it, I'm not going to stress too much about it.
Here's a look at the actual lot. I apologise in advance for the darkness of the pics. I couldn't turn the lights on because I didn't have a Sim there.

This is the music room. I never thought to add a music room to the high school but I just may now, because I like how this turned out and I'm excited to play it. It's a shame the kids can't use the drums, guitar or bass though. I have no idea if they can use the microphone but I've added it just in case.

Sunday 19 April 2009

Catching the butterfly

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Zelda Benton

One night, Dad told us he was going bug hunting in the cemetery. He heard talk that there was some sort of rare beetle that was plentiful in the grounds and only at night, and once he heard that, there was no stopping him.

Saturday 18 April 2009

Carrying Cathy

Round 15: Day 71-75

Narrated by Aphrodite Nihill

Charlton has finally got himself up to a more respectable position in the music industry. It's still a little embarrassing to tell people my 48-year-old husband is a summer camp music teacher but it's better than coffee shop sound engineer.

Friday 17 April 2009

Brown-eyed girl

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Collette Sitko

At our place, we've been preparing for Kirstin's fifth birthday.

Thursday 16 April 2009

Box full of letters

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Emil Collins

My mum is pregnant. Again. With twins. Again. For most people, three kids and extremely tight finances would be enough but my mother wants five.

Wednesday 15 April 2009

Sullivan Rules and Regulations (updated 30/10)

I just realised the other day that I had a post detailing some of the financial rules I've put in place in Sullivan but things have changed a bit since then and I had left a few things out. So I've put this post together. I've reorganised all the information in my old Finances post and added to it and put everything under sub-headings, which will hopefully make it easier to find the information you're looking for, if you ever need/want to.

I'm now going to take the old post out of the side bar and add this one but the old one will always be linked here, if you need to refer to that for some reason.

Blue orchid

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Vivienne Carmody

Joseph and I had my sister Leontine over for dinner the other night. I'd like to get all my siblings together more often but with Georgette and Pascal living in Exeter, it's a challenge.

Tuesday 14 April 2009

Black dog

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Henry Romilly

Araminta and I have just bought a house and I figured what better way to mark our step into the adult world of home ownership than to get engaged?

Sunday 12 April 2009

Basement

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Simona Moretti

We've had a new influx of students at school this round and a lot of them seem rather feisty.

Wednesday 8 April 2009

Afterglow

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Magdalena Novak

As you probably heard, I moved back in with my parents right after college to get all my finances in order. Thank goodness that didn't last long. That house is too crowded for me! Living in my new house, previously owned by my cousin Filippo, is much saner!

I'm alone for the meantime but my family comes over to visit a lot. Arianna came for lunch the other afternoon.

Ain't gone and open

Round 15: Days 71-75

Narrated by Brandon Kirby

Not much to speak of here on the farm. Tate and Trent are off at college, so I'm usually packing crates for the market by myself.

Across the sea

Round 14: College
(Magdalena, Tate and Trent)

Last updates: Tate and Trent/Magdalena

Next updates: Magdalena/Tate and Trent

Narrated by Trent Kirby

So college was not quite as exciting as I thought it would be. It was cool living somewhere other than the farm but there was a lot of work to do if you wanted to a halfway decent grade! Tate and I got started right away.

Sunday 5 April 2009

The summer

Narrated by Athena Lane

Ever since I graduated and moved in with my fiance, Adam, he's been very eager to marry. I really wanted to wait a little bit but Adam, despite being a pleasure seeker by nature, has a really strong family streak too.

Daysleeper

Round 14: Days 66-70

Narrated by Samson Clarke

Because my Dad is a rock god now, he brought home this awesome guitar from work! I can't wait until I'm old enough to play it. It's too heavy for me to even pick up right now, let alone play. But it does look really cool.
