Extra: Big family portraits!

I take family portraits of my sims all the time but about 10 game years ago, inspired by other simmers, I did a whole bunch of big family portraits. Generally, they are grandparents, their kids and partners and all their grandkids and partners. Or not-yet-grandparents and their grown kids and partners. I've decided to redo them every 10 game years, so I can see how they've changed and rather than throw them in at the end of my regular updates one by one, I thought I'd put them all in one big pic spam post instead!

Lot tour: the new Novak Hall

When I started my Sullivan rebuild, I was fairly resigned to the fact that I wasn't going to be able to get a lot of my lots back. So I've been pleasantly surprised just how many I have been able to track down again, due to Pinterest or just pure dumb luck.

One of the lots I was able to find again was Apple Plaza, originally made by Babbelsim. I used it in Sullivan 1.0 and made it over but I was never completely happy with the layout. Having the boys' bathroom on one floor and the girls' on the other was more annoying than I thought it would be, the hallways were too big and it was all just not quite right to me. So I decided to have another go at it, this time learning from my mistakes with the first one.

My original makeover is here. I forgot to do an exterior shot this time but it's not too different from my first makeover anyway. Remember I'm still fairly low on CC. I will likely end up adding some things to this lot when I have more but I am mostly happy with it as is.

First floor layout. The original lot has rooms that are completely internal, as in none of the walls touch an outside wall. Those kinds of rooms drive me a bit nuts, so I got rid of them.

Guess who?

So if you follow me on Twitter, you probably know that yesterday, I was afraid I'd lost Sullivan. I spent the better part of the morning troubleshooting and fixing it and then spent the afternoon replaying Joanna and Rose and painstakingly redecorating a house I'd just done the night before (very glad I took pictures!). It was so how I wanted to spend my day off!

Anyway, when I loaded up my hood to test it, I noticed that some of my Sims looked rather interesting with no CC so I thought we could play a game of Guess Who!

Some of these Sims' skin tones may be different, because they use an in-between tone and I only had the 4 Maxis tones in the game when I took the pictures. So keep that in mind when you make your guesses.

Sullivan's Top 20 - a Valentine's Day interlude

I'd been thinking of doing something like this for Valentine's Day for a couple of months now and Laura's post with Lakeside Heights' hottest couples made me actually get my butt in gear and do it, rather than forgetting about it until February 15th.

I have not kept truly consistent records of my chemistry scores in the past, so all of these couples, bar one, are currently together. I'm much more meticulous about noting chemistry scores now but my former slackitude means I don't have the scores for a lot of my former couples. All these couples are three-bolters - I didn't realise I had so many!

Witches' rave

Those of you who read the last Sitko update will know that Collette, out of the clear blue sky and with no record of any witches in Sullivan, rolled the want to become a witch. On the suggestion of The Lunar Fox, I used the lot debugger to make Collette an evil witch, InSimmed her magic skill to the maximum and took some pics. Yes, I cheated. I was short on time yesterday but I felt like playing a tiny bit!

I was going to save it for Outtakes at the end of the round but seeing today is Halloween, I thought it was appropriate to post now! Funnily enough, while I was playing, Jeff Buckley's Witches' Rave came up on my iPod, hence the title. It's probably one of the only (if not the only) witch-related song I have, so that was quite a stroke of luck! On with the pics!

Well, if we're going to do this evil witch thing, we may as well go the whole hog and have Collette dressed appropriately too. The real witches' dress, for some reason, doesn't show up in my game. It used to but whatever. The vampire dress will have to do! Collette's skin did not turn green because even though I've never planned to play with witches, it would bother me immensely if the evil witch who won't stay away from my damn community lots (I really hope that SimWardrobe hack works for me!) had green skin.
