Right at the end of last year, Grandpa decided to retire. He really loved his job but he couldn't handle it physically any more. Caterina has been hoping he'd retire since before they got married, so she's happy.
For the last few weeks, I've been doing all my school work from home. My parents both wanted to make sure I was close to the hospital when the time came and preferably with family around.
We've been in our new house for about a year now and it fits our family so well. Olivia still doesn't have a separate sewing room but our bedroom is so big that she can keep all her things in there and we still have plenty of space.
After Mum got married and moved out, I thought Zaria and I might finally be able to really enjoy our days off while the kids were at school. I think that lasted around three weeks.
Before Dad proposed to Caterina, he wanted to get my okay. I have to admit that I was a little surprised, both that he was that serious about her and that he seemed to know I was never fond of Caterina.
About a week ago, Mum and Julian came over for dinner, which isn't unusual. Mum is over here a lot and when she got together with Julian, she started to bring him with her sometimes.
Lila and I just started high school. The building looked so huge on the first day (I guess it still kind of does!) and I think we both felt lucky to have the other one there by our side.
When Olivia moved in, she told me she would need a place for her sewing machine and I didn't think it'd be that much trouble to just put it in the bedroom. I didn't realise that "sewing machine" meant the sewing machine, plus a whole bunch of other supplies. She's so cramped in there but if she's not working, she spends all day in there so I guess she doesn't mind that much.
The honeymoon we were planning on taking last winter ended up being delayed over and over - Zaria's work, my show, flight bungles. But finally, we were able to head off this summer and we couldn't wait.
After 20 years together, Max and Zaria are finally getting hitched! Everything is ready, so now all that's left to do is wait for the guests to arrive.
So far, Jessica has been so much easier to raise than Josh was. She's so easy-going and gentle, whereas Josh was more of the pull-Mummy's-hair-and-then-laugh-because-it's-so-funny model of toddler.
The night before Ben's funeral, I had to call in to work to let them know I wouldn't be in. I shouldn't but I felt really guilty. I still feel new there but when there's a death in the family, what else can you do?
I'm going to miss Josh when he starts pre-school next year. I know it'll only be for half a day but when I'm not working, I really cherish spending time with him.
Since Lia walked in on Gordon and Jamie last year, Jamie has been calling. A lot. Even though he and Lia are no longer an item, he really doesn't want to see Jamie.
