2034 Elections: polls now open!

After eight years in office, Kirstin Sitko is wrapping up her second and final term as governor of Sullivan. During this past term, she has overseen the refurbishment of Sullivan Town Hall and the building of a brand new music faculty at Suffolk University. Recently, construction of a science faculty for the university has also begun.

Most of the basic exterior has been completed. All that needs to be done now is the interior and the landscaping.

Of the areas that are already finished, there is a room for future botanists...

...a lecture theatre...
...and a mini-observatory.

Governor Sitko is proud of her achievements but it's time to pass the role onto someone else. Who will it be?

Candidate: Zaria Royce-Nihill

Zaria Royce-Nihill has been a familiar face on the political scene in Sullivan since shortly after graduating from Suffolk University. She is currently a state representative and mother to two children.

If elected, her goals will be:
A movie studio in Sullivan.
A drama academy at Suffolk University.
Establishing a university scholarship for students with straight As and who could not otherwise afford to go to college.

Candidate: Eliot Lane
Eliot Lane is new to politics. His experience is drawn from his many years in the military, where he is now Chief of Armed Forces. He is also the father of four children.

If elected, his goals will be:
Establishing a military base in Sullivan.
A state-of-the-art gym and sports centre for Suffolk University.
The revitalisation of parks and recreation in Sullivan, including new places aimed specifically at children and teens.

Voting is also open for Education Representative on the hood council. That race is between current rep Kendal Draper and her opponent Tatiana Lachance.

Polls are open now in the sidebar and will remain open for two weeks. If I find a lot of votes are still coming in near closing time, I'll extend them for a little while.

  3. Well, I've cast my vote! Too bad we've gotta wait so long for the final results.
I am in awe of your building skills. I never get anything that good out of my brain. Yet, inexplicably, I now want to build something, lol.

  4. Thanks for your votes, guys!

Fini, well, giving it a shot is the only way to get better at it! ;) I don't think my building skills are anything special but they are better than what they were when I started Sullivan. I prefer decorating though. Building can still be very frustrating for me. I think my spatial awareness is off, because I really struggle with layouts in particular.

  5. I voted, but boy was it a tough choice! Both candidates had some excellent ideas.

I love your science facility, it looks great! Everytime I see someone build or decorate something, I say: Wow. I need one of those for Rocky Cove. So yes, I have yet another thing to add to my To Do List.

  6. coolkat2, I'm the same when I look at other people's blogs - my to-do list is about a mile long!

    Thanks for voting!

  7. I love the science faculty! The science building is on my todo to finish building and decorating. It's part of the university campus now, but it also has the science career rabbithole rug so Madison, Tucker, and other scientists will work there. So I need a classroom set up and labs and offices. You've given me some ideas! The observatory is awesome. :)

  8. Shana, thanks! I'm planning on having this building double as a career lot for natural science and science as well, so it will be similar to what you're doing with the rabbithole rugs. :) It didn't occur to me while I was building but I was thinking about it the other night and got very excited!

  10. Wow Carla! Your science faculty is looking great!! I love the look of the outside!! I never know how to handle those kind of roofs! I can't stop saying how much I love that building! Mine isn't nearly as great as that one :)

On to the elections now :)
I will be sad to see Kristin go. But she had 2 succesful terms, and I think she can be happy with what she achieved!
I'm having a hard time deciding between Eliot and Zaria. I really want to see that movie studio, I've wanted to see if with the previous elections as well, but then again, I really want to see that military base .... aaah decisions, decisions ... :)
I voted for my candidates, and I can't wait to see the results :)

  11. Thanks for voting, all!

Astrid, I know, poor guy! LOL, maybe next time - these things usually end up a landslide, for some reason.

Apple Valley, me either! If voting stops completely for a good while, I might close the polls early and put us all out of our misery. ;)

Tanja, I'm glad you like it! I sometimes try to use domed roofs and then change it but I was determined to make it work this time. They're not easy to work with!

As always, these are all projects I want to do eventually. Though if Zaria wins, that movie studio is going to take up a good portion of my building time, lol! Or at least, I think it will. Maybe I'll get in and it will all fall together. Hopefully?

  12. Ohh Kirsten did a lot of great stuff, love the interior shots! I voted for Zaria, I want to see the movie studio, I've been wanting one so I want to see how you do yours lol. Plus it'd be great for students that have low income/scholarships still be able to go to college.

  13. A military base or a drama academy? That's really a too easy choice for me! *lol* Kirstin made her super work, and I hope the new governor will do as good as she did. (I'm sure *she* will... ;))

  14. Maisie, LOL, you and everybody else! I've committed myself to a pretty big project here with that movie studio!

    Thanks for voting!

Sandy, LOL, I cannot possibly guess who you voted for!

    Thanks for voting!

  15. I really like the look of the science faculty building. It looks very modern and I like how botanist area and of course the observatory.

I knew I should have commented the day I voted because now I don't remember who I voted for lol! I know I voted for Eliot because I was interested in seeing what you'd do with a military base but I can't remember if I voted for Tatiana or Kendal. In both cases, I voted for the underdog but now it's such a tight race between the 2 ladies. I am looking forward to seeing all of your projects for Zaria, too, though. I just felt bad for Eliot lol. I hope he doesn't get discouraged. But in the words of Beyonce... who runs the world? GIRLS! :p

  16. Danielle, LOL, in Sullivan at least, Beyonce is definitely right!

I haven't touched that science facility in so long - no excuses either! I haven't been in much of a building/decorating mood so far this month.

You probably voted for Tatiana, if you voted for the underdog. She's only just come in ahead in the last 24 hours. This time yesterday, she and Kendal were neck and neck. LOL, a pity vote for Eliot! He just can't compete with that movie studio. ;)

    Thanks for voting!
