Round 37: February 2045 (Summer)
Jonathan is the youngest in the family by quite a few years, so he’s not yet old enough to play with his cousins.
He is doted on by absolutely everyone though…
…cousins included.
Spending time with his grandchildren always leaves David wishing he could do it even more often.
Once everyone leaves, he has a chat with Kirstin about retiring from his work as a doctor after finishing out the year.
He’ll be 65 next year and it seems like a perfect time. He wants to enjoy his family life now that he’s getting older.
Kirstin can’t really imagine herself ever wanting to retire. She plans to keep working until she physically can’t do it any longer. But hearing that David is ready to wind down with work isn’t a surprise to her. If that’s what he wants to do, then Kirstin is happy to support him in it.

It’s a bumper birthday month for the Novak family. Maia is turning 44…
…Willow is turning 11…
…and Wren is turning 6!
To celebrate the day, the nature-loving family decide to head out and do some fishing.
Willow and River do pretty well, each catching themselves a good sized fish - a largemouth bass for River and a blue catfish for Willow!
Maia is not so lucky and catches nothing but someone’s disgusting old boot.
And Ethan…well, Ethan doesn’t catch anything at all but does fall right on his butt several times, which the kids find very funny!
Wren doesn’t catch anything either but she doesn’t care. Once she spotted her Grandpa Jace, who just happened to be strolling by, fishing lost all its appeal!

Edward and Lucy were born only a couple of days apart, so they plan to do something together on the day between their 31st birthdays.
This year is slightly trickier than previous years, with 16-month-old twins Gwen and Colin to deal with!
But Edward and Lucy are fortunate enough to live with Edward’s parents, who are happy to take the twins off their hands for the evening.
Edward and Lucy are creatures of habit, so they decide to have dinner at the same place they always have dinner - the local pub.
They’ve got some good memories at this humble pub. It’s the same place they celebrated after finding out Lucy was pregnant, exactly two years ago.
Lucy was hoping those memories might convince Edward that it’s time to start trying for another baby but he’s not on board quite yet.
Lucy has wanted another since soon after the twins were born and although she’s also worried a third baby might be too much at the moment, it hasn’t outweighed her baby fever either.

Lila as a toddler...
...and Connor as a toddler.
I did initially think Jonathan was a clone of Lila with Connor's colouring...but looking again, he does seem to have inherited Connor's nose. I do think he's more Sitko than anything else though - he looks a lot like his cousin Eliza when she was still a toddler.
Wow, they truly are a nature loving family. I loved all the shots of them fishing...and some of them failing-lol

So many birthdays in the Novak family, I have several friends like that, ours are much more spread out. It looks like they had a great time celebrating though, and how cute was Wren talking to her Grandpa! Poor Maia only catching boots. I'm sure the kids had a good laugh outfishing their Dad.
ReplyDeleteJonathan is a cutie! He definitely reminds me of his Mom/Sitko family. The lips look similar to both parents. It's sweet seeing the family dote upon him, he was born so much later than the rest of the grandkids, though Lila's son was a more traditional timing.
Ours are spread out too but a friend of mine has about 75% of her family's birthdays in December/January, including her own! Expensive time of year!
DeleteJonathan is very much a Sitko, I think! He does have his cousin Eliza, Camilla and Charlie's youngest daughter, who is only a few years older than him - she just turned 4. And she actually looks a lot like Jonathan, because she's also very much a Sitko!

Lila was so pretty as a toddler and Connor was adorable. Jonathan is a cutie too. It’s fun to see that Oscar and Stella are 6 and that Finn and Victoria are married 20 years this year! This is Shannon but I’m not sure if I’m going to manage to log in on my phone or be anonymous.

DeleteI was very surprised to see Finn and Victoria had been married 20 years already. Then again, Declan and Caitlin are both in their 20s now, so it shouldn't be that surprising, I guess!

ReplyDeleteWow, three birthdays in the same month for the Novaks. They are quite a big family! I loved that they went fishing to celebrate.
I'm sure Edward's parents wouldn't mind another grandchild. ;) Twins and a newborn though, gosh sounds like it could be handful!

Do you think so? To me, Jonathan definitely looks like he has Lila's nose, as I think Connor's is wider. I guess we'll be able to tell better when he gets older though!

Twin toddlers and a newborn could definitely be difficult, which is probably the reason for Edward's hesitation! His parents have seven grandchildren already but both of them basically always have the want for another, so they won't mind an eighth!
