You say it's your birthday, February 2044

Round 36: February 2044 (Summer)

This month, Lucy and Edward are both celebrating their 29th birthdays! Edward is exactly two days older than Lucy, which is too adorable for words.

It's also Jonas's birthday (he's turning 66) but he's not having too great a time. He's been struck with a bout of food poisoning and has been making far too many trips to the bathroom.

This is causing some issues for Lucy, who has also been needing the bathroom a lot lately (you would never think this family had four bathrooms to use!)

Yes, Lucy is now about six weeks pregnant with her and Edward's first child! They've been wanting to start trying for a while and were fortunate enough to conceive the first month they started trying.

With so much to celebrate - birthdays and an impending birth - they decide a dinner at the local pub is in order.

It's not the fanciest place in the world but they have good food and Edward and Lucy enjoy their little celebration.

Back at home, they share the news with Jonas and Tatiana, who are naturally thrilled. This will be the fifth grandchild for them, as eldest son Dominic's third child will arrive before Lucy and Edward's new addition.

Other birthdays this month:
Andrew Clarke turns 8.
Willow Novak turns 9.
Daphne Kirby turns 13.
Zane Hamilton turns 33.
Maia Novak turns 42.
Corbin and Pamela Gray both turn 59.
Trent Kirby and Tate Benton turn 74.

February wedding anniversaries:
Nathan and Rebecca Collins - 3 years.
Calvin and Aaron Clarke - 12 years.
Troy and Josie Clarke - 14 years.
Finn and Victoria Romilly - 18 years.

Notes:
  • Inspired by some other bloggers, I'm going to have monthly birthday posts from now on, which will also note any wedding anniversaries that might be happening. I'm hoping to be able to use them to add story bits that I might not otherwise get to as quickly if I need to, but also just for fun little check-ins. Just like in this update, I won't be focusing on everybody - just whoever happens to be calling to me at that point in time. Sometimes it might be just one household but other months, I might check in with two or three.
  • This will not replace the age-ups in January birthdays. I would never get rid of those! This is just a little something extra.
  • Edward and Lucy just happened to try for a baby when I entered the lot and were immediately successful. Had to go with it! They've both wanted a baby for ages now. Anyway, Lucy is due in November, while sister-in-law Leslie is due in May.
  • I don't know how so many Lachances ended up clustered in February but there you go! Tatiana is January and Audrey and Brendan are both in March. Dominic is the black sheep, with a June birthday. At least Baby Lachance will be mixing things up a bit. ;)

  1. Wedding anniversaries! How did I never think of that??? You know I'm gonna steal this idea! :D Hopefully I haven't divorced all of my couples and have some left to celebrate. ;)

I've always enjoyed monthly birthdays. It's nice to have a chance to catch up with the rest of the hood for a minute so it can feel like they're all still living their lives out there.

I'm so excited for Lucy and Edward and a baby! And I love that their birthdays are so close.

Were they the ones who moved into an apartment above his parents house? I wondered if they might run into privacy issues with that. Silly sims and their bathrooms! I can't remember if TS2 has door locks? In Stephanie's house, I have her master bathroom locked for only her and Justin to use, so at least there's much less competition for a toilet, lol!

    1. Heh, I think I stole the wedding anniversaries idea from Starr, maybe? I'm pretty sure she marks her sims' anniversaries in her newsletter posts. Steal away, seeing I stole birthdays from you anyway, lol!

Lucy and Edward and their almost matching birthdays is just sickeningly adorable, lol! I can't wait to meet their baby. :D

And yes, Lucy and Edward moved into the second floor of his parents' house. There's really no reason for Jonas and Tatiana to ever come upstairs but they share a kitchen/dining area downstairs, so Edward and Lucy do have to venture downstairs occasionally. ;) You can lock doors in TS2 but they are limited. You can lock out pets or non-resident sims or you can lock out everyone but one sim. Or you can lock out everyone. Locking the downstairs bathrooms for only J and T or the upstairs bathrooms for only E and L isn't an option. I think there are hacked doors that allow more options...but then I'd have to pick my doors based on function, rather than on how well they match the rest of the decor, and I can't have that, lol!

  2. This really is a great idea chronicling birthdays, anniversaries, etc. I marvel at how anyone can keep track and keep their sims all on the same calendar.

    1. I've kept track of birthdays and anniversaries since I switched to using months, so I just figured I might as well start sharing it with you all too. :)

  3. This is so great! I love this idea! And I can't wait see more of these updates, they are so much fun. I also can't wait to do this in Linfort, but I don't think I'll do them any time soon, since I don't have that many sims just yet, and if I did this, I think everybody will get tired of seeing the same sims over and over again!

Anyway, it's nice that the arrangement of living with Edward's parents turned out so good for these 2, and that they are expecting their first child, as always I'm looking forward to meeting this little one!
Poor Jonas, being sick is never a fun thing, but it's especially not fun when it's on your birthday.

    1. Glad you like the idea, because you'll be seeing plenty of it in the months to come, lol! Ha, it would probably be a bit tedious in Linfort right now but it's definitely something to keep in mind for the future.

As someone whose birthday is very close to the beginning of winter, I am very aware of how much it sucks to be sick on your birthday! Fortunately, I've never had a stomach bug on my birthday, like poor Jonas!

  4. You already know how much I love the way you are doing this! <3

I'm so excited for Lucy and Edward and to see how their genetics play out! They are such an adorable couple, and their close birthdays is just too sweet! Poor Jonas, that isn't any fun. Sims are pretty good at sneaking rotten food!

As for the pub, if it is anything like ours, the food is amazing! And Lucy got lobster, so it can't be too shabby!!

    1. I can't really take any credit at all for it, as it's kind of a mishmash of what Starr and Laura have done for a good while now. But I'm glad you're excited about it.

I can't wait to see this baby! I was thrilled when I heard those chimes, lol.

I am a huge fan of pub food. I really like the sort of hearty, simple food they usually serve. :)

  5. And to think that celebrating a wedding anniversary never entered my mind, especially since I actually mark down wedding dates. Another idea to possibly steal...

    1. I've noted down wedding dates for a long time now, though it's been rare that I've shown it off in any real way on the blog. I like the idea of marking how long some of my sims have been married though. It's fun to watch the time pass in that way. :)
