You say it's your birthday, October 2041

Round 35: October 2041 (Spring)

Audrey has entered her second trimester and finally has something to show for all that morning sickness, in the form of a very cute baby bump!

She and husband Jack can't wait to welcome their first child in April 2042!

Amber Miguel was the first mother to give birth in Lukas Novak Memorial's brand new birthing suite!

Newly minted big brother Joaquin was there with dad Elmer to welcome little Matias Eliseo into the world!

Matias has his mother's complexion and green eyes but shares his brown hair with his dad and older brother.

And finally Malcolm and Hope also have some happy news to share! If all continues to go well, they will be welcoming a baby in June 2042!

It's still early days, so they haven't told anyone yet (especially considering the loss of their unborn baby earlier this year). Until they're ready to announce that they're expecting again, Hope is making sure she gets plenty of rest!

Extra:

Just another shot of the birthing suite. The hospital is not finished by any means! Not even the birthing suite is, really. The walls are very bare and I need a bit more decor (and some nice thick, full length curtains for the windows!) But it's usable, so I thought why not actually use it!

Notes:
  • So Hope and Malcolm are having a baby! I can't remember if I said here (I know I said it on N99) but I had planned to go in and let Hope and Malcolm try for a baby once a month from September onwards. It only took them two tries, as they had no luck in September but got pregnant right away in October! When I was adding the baby's birth to my play schedule, I realised this new baby will be due the same month their first baby would have turned celebrated his/her first birthday, which is kind of bittersweet.
  • Definitely just the one baby for Audrey and Jack, for those wondering about twins! If they were going to have twins though, second trimester update is when I would announce it, because I guess you wouldn't really know until you're a fair way into the first trimester. At least.
  • I am a tiny bit annoyed that Amber and Elmer had another boy. I kind of wanted them to have a girl, because I really love the girls' name I had picked out and I'm a wee bit unbalanced with my girl-to-boy ratio right now. But the only other baby this year was also a girl and I can always use Amber and Elmer's name for someone else, so I'm not going to cry too hard. I do adore the name Matias as well.
  • My next family is Nick and Sarah and I have a massive house to decorate before I can play with them. So if the next story update is late, you'll know why!

  1. I love your idea of having Hope and Malcolm try every "month" during your round, and am excited that they are pregnant again. I read Sea Ghost, your post about their late term still birth. In RL, my first daughter was stillborn at 7 months (she would be 22 now), and your story was right on with the way things happened and how it felt. So I will definitely be cheering for Hope and Malcolm through this pregnancy.

    1. I quite like the monthly attempts system! I use a similar thing for adoption (to decide when a couple will be matched with a child), though I have to use rolls with that of course.

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter, even though I realise it was a long time ago now. I'm glad I wasn't totally off in my writing about it. It's not something I have any personal experience with - I've just read various women's stories online. I will be holding my breath through the rest of this pregnancy!

  2. Yay!! Hope is expecting again, I'm SO glad! A rainbow baby for them, due the same birth month of their lost baby, very bittersweet. Glad she is resting it up, I imagine her being constantly on top of her needs.

Matias is a great name, I considered it for Ginny but went with Domenico, cause I like Dom for a nickname. So you have too many boys? I have such an abundance of girls, I don't even know what it'd feel like to have a boy abundance. I am mega curious about your girl name you didn't get to use.

    Excited to see Sarah's house!

Shannon so sorry for your loss. It's something that always sticks with you. :(

    1. A rainbow baby! I've not heard that term before but it's very sweet. You should have seen me playing Hope and Malcolm. When I sent her to nap on the couch, her energy was only about halfway down, lol. I'm paranoid now!

I like Matias but I love Ines, which is what I would have named a girl. I'm not sure I'll get to use it now. I try to theme my sibling names in some subtle way, so they don't totally clash stylistically. Maybe I need another family to use Spanish names. Or Italian, as Ines is Italian too (I think there's an accent somewhere in the Spanish version, which I wouldn't have used in game anyway).

I just finished Nick and Sarah's house before I started replying to these comments! Crazy. I really thought I'd take a lot longer but I kept thinking "okay, just one more room!" and before I knew it, I was done. :) I'll put a lot tour up here and on N99 sometime in the next couple of days. :)

  3. Excited for all the new babies. I can understand Hope and Malcolm wanting to wait a little bit before sharing their news. A stillbirth is a very hard thing to get over.

    1. No, I'm sure Hope and Malcolm will always have that little piece missing in their family, as happy as they are about this new baby. And they are definitely being cautious this around and Hope is treating herself very delicately.

  4. Lots of babies, love it! :) And the birthing suit looks great. I downloaded one for TS3 the other day but the only thing is all the cc you need to make it look legit. I try to keep the cc in my game to a bar minimum.

Yay for Malcom & Hope too! They really deserve it after what happened and I hope everything goes well for them this time.

    1. I'm pretty thrilled to finally have a place my sims can give birth again! It does take a lot of CC to do these kind of lots though, in both games. I don't think EA predicted how many different kinds of lots we'd all want to make and download, so they didn't really give us anything to help. Though I think the CC community does a better job than them anyway. ;)

I have every possible body part crossed for Hope and Malcolm this time! I'm taking extra special care of her. :) The first trimester is the most dangerous one but seeing it happened in the third for her last time, I'm not taking chances even now.

  5. Pregnancy suits Audrey very well! She looks great!
I'm so happy Hope and Malcolm are expecting again! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well this time!
I'm very much looking forward to both babies!

I kind of like that Amber and Elmer have 2 boys, but I would have loved to see a little girl from these 2 as well.

    1. I knew Audrey would be a cute pregnant sim! Who am I kidding, I just love pregnant sims in general! So I am naturally thrilled about Hope and Malcolm as well, especially with the sad ending to her last pregnancy.

I've come to terms with Matias, lol. Still really want to name a baby Ines though! I don't know which of my sims might use that name but I'll keep it in mind.
