You say it's your birthday, December 2046

December 2046 (Summer)

Audrey’s third trimester has been a rough one.

She’s constantly exhausted. There have been times when she’s gone to bed before the sun has even set, because she’s just that tired.

Thank goodness for Zelda, who is always home during the day and can take care of Mia, which Audrey sometimes just can’t do at the moment.

Jack has taken on homework duties for Zoe but seeing Zoe has been “forgetting” to bring home her homework book lately, they’ve ended up sharing some father-daughter bonding time on Jack’s arcade machines instead.

Baby Benton is due in April.

The Jacobson triplets have finally arrived! Two boys and one girl, all of whom have their mother’s dark blue eyes and the dark hair of both their parents. Logan Thomas…

Imogen Theia…

…and Jordan Taylor.

Rose and Joanna Draper have recently moved house and brought Rose’s dad Lake and stepmother Kendal to live with them.

Lake and Kendal had downsized in recent years and their place was no longer as suitable for holding big family gatherings (and the Drapers are a BIG family!)

The new place, however, is perfect for a big Draper family Christmas.

Kendal was so excited to prepare a couple of dishes the night before.

Joanna considers the shared kitchen hers but decided to keep her thoughts to herself (for once!) for the sake of a peaceful Christmas.

Despite Joanna’s annoyance, the family manages to have a very enjoyable Christmas Day.

The most exciting part, at least for Lake and Kendal, is Veronica and Chris announcing their engagement.

Veronica and Chris have been living together for a while now, so Lake and Kendal had been expecting an engagement announcement and are glad it’s finally come.

The wedding date is yet to be decided but early spring next year is most likely.

It’s New Year’s Eve over at the Lachance farm, not that anyone would know it.

Tatiana and Jonas both tired of staying up until midnight several years back and are planning on going to bed whenever they feel sleepy.

Edward and Lucy might have stayed up…but not this year.

Last year, they had one-year-old twins Colin and Gwen to deal with and were too exhausted.

This year, Lucy is 32 weeks pregnant and is both exhausted and freaking out. She’s developed a lot of anxiety over the past couple of weeks and as much as she wants this baby, she’s also terrified.

The nursery isn’t ready, Colin is still waking up at night and she’s worried about how needy this new baby will be on top of that.

Edward is totally confident the nursery will be ready before the baby arrives. The most labour-intensive part - painting and laying the new carpet is already done.

All that needs to be done now is assembling the furniture. Edward could probably do it on his own but his brother Dominic offered to help and things should go even faster now.

And as for Colin, 8 weeks is a long time for a 2 year-old. He may well have settled down by then.

Edward is confident that if they could handle twins with no parenting experience, they can handle throwing one more baby into the mix!

December birthdays:
Levi and Will Draper turn 14
Justin and Xavier Moretti turn 25
Eddie and Louisa Gentry turn 26
Rob Ashton turns 45
Jacob Kirby turns 45
Zaria Royce-Nihill turns 58
Megan Kirby turns 74
Magdalena Novak turns 82

December wedding anniversaries:
Oliver and Sophie Gentry - 3 years
Edward and Lucy Lachance - 5 years
Luc and Asha Lane - 18 years
Owen and Naomi Novak - 36 years

Notes:
  • Confession: Jonas was supposed to die in this update! I gave him a reprieve because I already lost Trent accidentally this round (forgot to turn aging off when I moved the Kirby family to a new house), so I swapped Jonas's death date with the date Trent was supposed to die. I always thought 66 was way too young anyway!
  • Lucy currently both wants and fears having a baby. Pretty common for Family sims who already have a couple of kids and honestly, pretty realistic!
  • Just realised while writing this that I still have to schedule Louisa and Justin's wedding in for next round too. They might have a home wedding to keep costs down (at Justin's parents' place).
  • I basically already have January birthdays done. Just got to write it up (very easy for birthdays). After that, I think I will do January updates which will be shorter, story updates for families scheduled for that month. I'm going to stick with this format for a while and see how I like it. So far, so good. I will still use Birthdays to pop in with sims celebrating a birthday whose stories I want to update a bit more.

  1. It's good that Audrey has help with the other kids so she can rest during this pregnancy!

Those triplets are adorable! But I bet those babies will bring a lot of busy days for their parents, lol.

Hopefully Colin will settle down a bit before this new baby comes!

    1. Yes, moving the grandparents in with one of the kids prevents me from getting too bored with them but they're also handy babysitters! Poor Audrey is having a tough time, so it's needed.

I still have to decorate the rest of that damn house for the triplets and their family! It's very selectively decorated right now - only the parts I took pics of, lol! But I think the triplets will turn out cute, if Phoebe is anything to go by.

I think Colin is just going through his terrible twos but if not, I think he's going to be a child by the time I play the family next, so I won't have to suffer through his whining, in any case, lol!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  2. Poor Lucy, she looks positively huge and uncomfortable. Hopefully Colin settles down and is easier to handle before the new baby is born. It's a lot of stress being pregnant while having twins and the nursery isn't complete.

Nice of Joanna to keep the peace on Christmas. It was a large gathering and fun to see all the kids playing in the backyard. The large house really is perfect for everyone to visit. It's nice having all these joint families, I really ought to bring my elders into their adult children homes to cut down on households and a bit of boredom.

I'm looking forward to the new baby plus seeing the triplets age up!

    1. I kind of love those custom meshes with the overly large bumps, like the top Lucy has on! I think she will be fine in the end. She's lucky that she has lots and lots of help in the house with the kids and her parents don't live terribly far away either.

I'm loving the big house for the Drapers! And it really is nice to stick elders in with their kids. I enjoy them so much more that way.

Had a minor hiccup with the twins the other day where I thought I was going to have to have Matilda give birth all over again and reroll until I got the right combination of gender and genetics. Thank goodness, I believe I fixed it and will be able to age up the triplets as normal next year!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!
