You say it's your birthday, Winter 2024

Cordy Lane is on maternity leave and spending most of her time in her favourite place - her backyard pool! She's just lounging around, rather than doing laps like normal because she's been unusually fatigued during this pregnancy.

Perhaps that's because Cordy and her husband Eliot are expecting twins! The Lane twins are due in Summer 2025.

Maia Novak has had a bit of bad luck recently, flunking out of college and breaking up with her boyfriend of three years, Nick Moretti. She's now back in Sullivan and living at her parents' house while she figures out what she wants to do with her life. Anything would be better than her current job of Screen Test Stand-In; Maia is hoping something better comes along very soon!

Notes:
  • I had a feeling it'd be twins this time for Cordy and Eliot. Cordy's a twin herself and Eliot has the fertility benefit.
  • I know I said I wasn't going to put Maia in Birthdays, but while I was here, I thought I might as well. Still not a clue what kind of job I want for Maia. I'm playing her family next, so perhaps inspiration will strike then!

  1. TWINS! Yikes.

I love how Maia wants something better than screen-test stand in, though most sims would love to have their foot in the door of that career.

  2. Yay! Twins!!! Can't wait for the babies! Hopefully Maia will find some inspiration as to what she wants to do.

  3. Maybe she'll tell you. I have a newly-made playable who is unemployed and I couldn't find a job that fit her. She didn't seem to want a job either, until she rolled a want to buy a florist station. I thought sure, why not? I guess she's telling me she wants to be a florist now.

  4. Thanks for your comments, guys!

Apple Valley, yeah, I suppose that would be a dream come true for some Sims! Maia's just not suited to that kind of job though.

Tessa, ha, it's me that needs inspiration but perhaps Maia will be nice and offer me some!

LaurelCrossing, that's what I'm hoping for! Jace would love it if Maia wanted to become a florist. He's not going to be able to run the shop forever and it would be nice for him to be able to pass it on to one of his daughters one day.

  5. Oh man! TWINS! That's totally crazy! I mean, I know she is a twin, and just that alone is a big boost, plus his fertility. But man, you are on a twins streak right now it seems!

I'm glad you put Maia in this update, I think you should, even though she flunked out. It's nice to see an adult picture, and to know what she's up to as well. Sometimes I bounce back to these posts to see what they were doing after college, and where they are now. so it's good. :)

And technically, she is an adult now, so that's something to update.

  6. Maisie, yeah, there does seem to be a bit of a twin streak in Sullivan right now. The Lane twins will be the fifth set in five years!

As for Maia, not including her initially was really more laziness than anything. I didn't know Cordy was going to get pregnant, so I didn't think I'd have any updates for this winter. But I probably would have ended up doing it anyway, just to be a completist. ;)

  7. You have an insane amount of twins, lol.

  8. LOL, I really do! I have a lot of Family Sims and I can't stop myself from giving them those benefits!

  9. Wow, another set of twins! The population count must be going up.

Maia is still young, she has plenty of time to decide what she wants to do. It would be nice if one of the girls took over the flower shop though.

  10. Wow, I can't believe you actually let your Sims use that twins benefit! That's crazy business, lol!

I definitely don't see Maia in a career track either, lol! In real life, I'd see her as a jewelry maker or something, but since Sims can't do that, maybe a florist or something else fun and creative and part time ;)

  11. Sari, I just checked what the population will be at the end of the round and it's gone up by 2. But it'll go up by another 2 as soon as I enter the next round, so yeah...baby boom!

It's hard to decide what a Sim like Maia should do. She's just not very driven. I think she'd be pretty happy to slob around at home!

Laura, I know, I'm nuts. I really should stop doing that. My Sims had plenty of twins before AL anyway!

Ha, "part time" being the most important part of that? LOL. I really wish the game had more creative options for Sim businesses because that's the kind of thing I see Maia suiting as well. I had her working for a little while in Jace's shop last time I played her though so she may end up becoming a florist after all. I'm not ready for her to take over just yet but eventually, I think she will.

  12. Hmm, nature and politics and drama...maybe she could join Greenpeace (just joking). If she was a Sims 3 Sim, that might work, but maybe she's too laid back for that.

Not everyone are industrious people. It will be fun to see what niche she finds in life.

I like twins, especially other Simmers twins, ha! No, really, I never used to use cheesecake or the twins benefit but after seeing so many of your cute ones, now there are 3 sets in Simdale Valley!

I look forward to seeing Cordy's and Eliot's.

  13. Francesca, ha, Hope Collins might have the Greenpeace thing cornered in Sullivan! It's as you said though; Maia is a little too laid back for that sort of thing.

I do love twins, so it's hard for me not to use that benefit! I should really start thinking of the population though. Of the last 5 sets of twins I've had in the game, only Austin and Lauren were "natural".

  14. I can't believe how close I am to being completely caught up! What am I going to do when I don't have all these entries to read? lol. I feel like I know your sims better than I know my own.

I know what you mean about finding something for Maia to do since she seems so unmotivated and laid back. That's how my Keisha is (even though her failing high school was my fault). She never did seem very motivated to me before then anyway. So I'm not sure what I'm going to have her do. I won't have to worry about it for a few RL months at the rate I'm going ;).

  15. Danielle, I can't believe you're so close either! You might be caught up by the end of the week.

Yeah, still stumped about Maia. It's very likely that I'll have her take over Jace's shop eventually but my Sims who own businesses normally have a full time job as well, unless they're very rich or retired. And I don't know what that will be for Maia.
