So when they met they would be siblings but not show up in the family tree. IE, if you have a sim cook, other sims can thank them. If you sim wakes up, sims can ask how they slept. If a sim is angry, sims can ask why. You can ask about pretty much everything. It doesn't actually DO anything, but I think it's pretty dang nifty.

I just wish they had different animations. Somehow I don't think the father should give the wife a big old pat on the arm for getting knocked up, LOL!

Sims can also use trait-relevant interactions. Congratulate painting skills, etc, etc.Maohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15055085789427987065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968444616198803470.post-84679519208065819282009-06-14T01:40:08.765+10:002009-06-14T01:40:08.765+10:00Epic scares me. 900 days?! It feels like I can really get attached to my sims. I played my first family and subsequent generations all on normal and it just felt fast. Like I was rushing to get things done and didn't really care about them.

We'll see how I feel when I am playing ALL of the Donovan children, LOL! Glad JM has TS2 style aging for TS3 now... x_x

(hilariously, my word verification was goren... which is excellent for anyone who watches L&O: Criminal Intent.)Maohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15055085789427987065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968444616198803470.post-61780022374980828192009-06-13T21:33:58.983+10:002009-06-13T21:33:58.983+10:00Thank you for posting this update. I've been curious about how others are playing, though, so thanks for the update.T.Irwinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06464127681142962223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968444616198803470.post-7021107989386008342009-06-13T09:34:11.008+10:002009-06-13T09:34:11.008+10:00Gah, I had *another* wedding to test out this rice...Gah, I had *another* wedding to test out this rice thing, on a nice flat lot but because I was stupid and picked house party instead of wedding party, I couldn't even find the "get married" option and the party failed. Then I had an actual wedding party and the guests started leaving almost immediately. :\ I think it was because I had no music or food out because the hosts were definitely interacting with the guests. Anyway, they left before the wedding even started. Lame!

Mao, I've given up on Epic. I'll bump it back up if I decide to have several families going at once but it's too long for legacy-style play. I'm playing normal right now because I suspect I'll run into the same issues with the Long span - takes ages to get to the next life stage and you don't advance in your career any slower so eventually, you're left with little to do.

Not sure about the babies but I'm just glad you don't have to have the Family-Oriented trait to get the wish. My nutty Sims who had twins already want another one.

Francesca, that's how I play TS2 too. In TS3, I do much the same thing but the play style still feels very different. But then again, I play only a couple of families, so it's really just the *other* families moving on without me.

They can announce promotions too, which is cool.Carlahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09140819019098738245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968444616198803470.post-73622690055830262282009-06-13T02:30:33.292+10:002009-06-13T02:30:33.292+10:00The moodlet for getting engaged, or nice party ven...The moodlet for getting engaged, or nice party venue, seems really neat. I also heard the sims can "announce pregnancy" or engagements (that was on Mao's blog about Patty).

I play TS2 mostly by how the sims' own personalities and preferences emerge, and by the wants they roll. (as opposed to getting a story line in mind and making them conform). However, it still is different from TS3 where they get right on with their lives without me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968444616198803470.post-24859621764928180982009-06-12T13:30:36.456+10:002009-06-12T13:30:36.456+10:00D'oh, forgot to mention the wedding particular...D'oh, forgot to mention the wedding particulars. I've thrown a few and sometimes they throw rice, sometimes they don't. Hopeless romantics seem to react the most, swooning and making noises, LOL. But it's really depressing--I miss TS2 weddings and the arch! Worst thing was brother and his ex decided to have a row in the middle of the wedding. Sigh.

As for baby wants, my normal sims seem to want babies almost as much as my family-oriented sims. I wonder if it has anything to do with the relationship between the two? My couples usually keep their bars maxed.

Epic?! Whoa! LOLMaohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15055085789427987065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968444616198803470.post-45350544225769271462009-06-12T08:39:26.232+10:002009-06-12T08:39:26.232+10:00Thanks everyone!

If they could swim in the ocean, I would miss it more, I think. I did start to wonder how they're supposed to catch the saltwater fish there though.

CissieMae, do you read Mandie's TS3 LJ? She had her wedding guests throw rice! So they're definitely supposed to do more than they did at our weddings but even she said they didn't drop everything like they do in TS2.

Riverdale, there's definitely kids coming! I played Eloise and Connor last night because I wanted to see if either of them got the wish for a baby because neither has the Family-Oriented trait. Well, they both rolled it up within a day of each other, so I had to oblige, of course! ;) I'm playing with the epic lifespan though and Zachary is still a baby so I'll wait until he grows up before I post anything.Carlahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09140819019098738245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968444616198803470.post-42321101475649425682009-06-12T01:47:49.910+10:002009-06-12T01:47:49.910+10:00You hit the nail on its head. But sadly we have the sims 3 which they gave us. lol

I'm currently playing Riverview, but I do miss the beach too. I miss swiming in the ocean as well. So actually playing the beach lot isn't as much fun as I thought it would be.

So now that your simmies are married are there going to be any children?Riverdale Blogshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10056037584624429561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968444616198803470.post-41460105883724710202009-06-11T17:43:15.899+10:002009-06-11T17:43:15.899+10:00MILTON! I haven't watched many episodes of AD but I did enjoy the ones I've seen.

I haven't played TS3 a lot but I did have one wedding and was extremely disappointed. The guests didn't clap or smile, they barely even watched the "ceremony". They were too busy barbecuing and playing chess (the wedding took place in the park).

I haven't had time to play anything this week which is a total bummer as I was just getting a bit excited about TS3 and also there are some interesting things going on in Wellington. But it's nice to see pictures of other people's games :)Sarihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08475614188928695076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968444616198803470.post-49206861075770486732009-06-11T10:31:58.610+10:002009-06-11T10:31:58.610+10:00I've played up to generation five of a family ...I've played up to generation five of a family that included step-relations. Step, half, and cousins are all recognized, but not extended relationships like second cousins or great grandparents. :( In TS2 there was a generic family token, but in TS3 there's an actual label/etc. And appropriate actions depending on the label. Parents can fuss over their adult children, WHICH IS HILARIOUS. It may be family-oriented dependent.

The newspaper popups say the same no matter what, really. There's like two for deaths. I never had sims get married on their own unless they were newly moved in sims or pre-mades that started with relationships. I'm using JM's awesomemod now, though, thank goodness.

I miss the beach so much. I had an awesome wedding at the beach for my gen 3 sim from when I was still testing the game.http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s84/tehmao/Sims3/beachwedding3.jpg Had way too much fun taking pictures. D:

I miss Sunset Valley. I miss the beach. Riverview is nice... but no beach. sadface.

As for TS2, I miss it, too, but it currently HATES me and keeps randomly having an application crash. Randomly sifting through CC not appealing to me atm. I nearly finished playing through the Davis house, too, sigh. /shakes fist!Maohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15055085789427987065noreply@blogger.com
